A mood is a way of expressing someone's feelings and emotions. If you're contented one moment, then sad the next, then angry, then joyous, then irritable, you're suffering from moodiness, or changeable moods. Moodiness is natural. When a person has a short temper or just can’t seem to optimize a mental clarity, mood swings and emotional distress can be a serious situation to deal with. When controlling moodiness or mood swings, the first thing person needs to look at is a diet. Things like caffeine, alcohol, artificial sweeteners, food additives, and highly processed foods have a tendency to throw the whole outlook off balance. With organic diet and right supplements, people can help fend off mood swings and enhance an emotional health.

Most people experience stress and anxiety from time to time. The feeling of being “stressed” can be triggered by an event that makes people feel frustrated or nervous. Anxiety is a feeling of fear, worry, or unease. It can be a reaction to stress, or it can occur in people who are unable to identify significant stressors in their life. Stress and anxiety are not always bad. In the short term, they can help overcome a challenge or dangerous situation. People experience stress and anxiety differently. Common physical symptoms include:

  • stomachache
  • muscle tension
  • headache
  • rapid breathing
  • fast heartbeat
  • sweating
  • shaking
  • dizziness
  • frequent urination
  • change in appetite
  • trouble sleeping
  • diarrhea
  • fatigue

In addition to physical symptoms, stress and anxiety can cause mental or emotional ones. These can include:

  • feelings of impending doom
  • panic or nervousness, especially in social settings
  • difficulty concentrating
  • irrational anger
  • restlessness

People who have stress and anxiety over long periods of time may experience negative related health outcomes. They are more likely to develop heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and may even develop depression and panic disorder. Unmanageable stress and anxiety can be unhealthy, both physically and psychologically. It’s important to seek help if you’re unable to control your worries and stress is impacting your daily life. Along with addressing the issues with a medical professional, healthy coping strategies and self-care along with a balanced diet and nutritional approach can help manage stress and anxiety.
